| What is the program? |
| The Cart Rental Program is a way to provide your mobility impaired pet with immediate assistance, short or long term, during rehabilitation, and before and/or after surgery. |
|
| |
| Why would I want to use the program? |
In all too many cases, a pet’s rehabilitation is hindered, or unnecessarily prolonged, because a pet owner didn’t have access to a pet wheelchair at an affordable price. With our Cart Rental Program, you have the flexibility to keep the cart as long as your pet needs it to return to full mobility, or you can return it to us after two weeks.
For more information on the importance of a cart for rehabilitation, please see Nursing Care – Rehabilitation. |
|
| |
| What are the benefits? |
| • |
Using a cart hastens rehabilitation and return to mobility. |
| • |
Provides limb protection for post surgical cases. |
| • |
Provides either full support or allows minimal weight bearing to protect your pet’s limbs after surgery. |
| • |
Exercise in the cart encourages blood flow and promotes healing. |
| • |
Keeps you pet mobile, active, and happy during recovery. |
| • |
Reduces the incidence of bed sores, urinary infections, and the need for prolonged cage rest. |
| • |
Prevents your pet from falling, or dragging itself around, which often prolongs recovery. |
| • |
Protects your pet from further injury, reduces your stress and worry, and makes nursing care easier. |
| • |
If your vet prescribes your pet’s wheelchair, most pet insurance will pay the cost of renting a cart. |

| Lucky’s Story – A Testimonial |
 |
We had felt completely hopeless after leaving our vet’s office. Our 6-year-old Papillon’s rear quarters were paralyzed from an apparent ruptured disc. To be honest, we really didn’t know what to do. We couldn’t afford the thousands of dollars required for treatment by a neurologist and we couldn’t bear the thought of euthanizing him, but we worried about the quality of his life, and really had no idea what to do next.
We were very fortunate to have Pet Mobility Rehab Center just a few short miles from our home. We called them and their kindness on the phone gave us such hope, and they invited us to bring him right over.
Lucky seemed to take to the cart right away, and we had so much joy because we now had hope that he could live out his years, both comfortable and happy. We also had the tiniest glimmer of hope that he might recover after talking with Barbara at Pet Mobility Rehab Center, but seeing him mobile and happy was enough for us. |
|
One week later, Lucky regained his mobility again. I am certain his rapid recovery was completely due to the use of the cart and the guidance we received from the folks at Pet MRC. He isn’t 100% better, but he is very, very close. He no longer needs the cart, and he thinks he is completely recovered. We know better and are continuing his special care as he completes the final stages of his recovery.
It breaks my heart to think of how many people feel as hopeless as we did and put their beloved pets down thinking it is the kindest thing they could do when there is hope out there, not only for mobility, but even recovery as it has been in Lucky’s case. I sincerely hope that other pet owners in this situation will be advised that paralysis isn’t always permanent and with help from a cart and proper care, their pets, too, may make a full recovery, or at the very least, live a long and happy life.
We are truly grateful for the kind and knowledgeable folks at Pet MRC. Without them, I sincerely believe Lucky would still be paralyzed.
Thank you,
Lorie, Robyn, Devyn, and Lucky Wood |

| Pricing* |
Our pricing is designed to make our Cart Rental Program very affordable. The charts below will show you how to calculate the initial deposit and weekly fees.
To figure out your costs, go to the cart that will provide the support your pet needs, go to the weight column, locate your pet’s weight, and read the chart from left to right.
For example: If your pet needs only rear support and weighs 27 pounds, go to the Standard Two-Wheel Carts and locate the Medium cart (26-40 pounds). Once you have located the size, you will note the deposit is $79 and the first week’s rental (which includes shipping both ways) is $70. The initial payment will be $149 ($79+$70) and the subsequent weekly rental fees will be $40 until you either contact us to return the cart or have paid for the cart in full, in which case you would own the cart.
